SERIOUSLY? Obama compares San Jose violence to…

Obama-on-campaign-coverage-in-media-Crazy-politics-alarm-world-leaders-1You’d assume those defending the violence against Trump supporters in San Jose would be confined to internet message boards -but you’d be wrong.

The mayor of San Jose blamed Trump supporters for inciting violence with their mere presence (aren’t liberals always the ones complaining about “victim blaming”?) Well, he wasn’t the only liberal politician defending the violence – Barack Obama chimed in as well.

He’s been upping his attacks on Trump recently (often quite unsuccessfully), and somehow thought that women being assaulted by leftist protestors would be an opportunity to advance a liberal narrative. The Daily Caller reports:

President Barack Obama accused Republicans Friday of engaging in violence similar to that employed by anti-Trump rioters in San Jose, California, Thursday night.

President Obama, talking to individuals at a Democratic National Committee fundraising event in Miami, said, “It is very important for us to remind ourselves of who we are and what is best about American democracy and not slip into some of the bad habits that currently manifest themselves in the other party.”

Obama, never mentioning Donald Trump, then said, “I want our democracy to work in such a way that eventually — and I’ve been waiting a while now – and eventually the Republican fever breaks and they become once again a sensible center-right party that can have a coherent policy debate with us and we can actually get some stuff done. But that doesn’t happen if we start digging into absolutist positions and aren’t willing to compromise and are resorting to some of the same kinds of tactics they’ve been engaging in for quite some time.”

It would be great if Obama could point me to the Republican equivalent of this. Where are the anti-Sanders and anti-Hillary protestors assaulting the supporters of those candidates? Where are the liberal college speakers being shut down by conservatives?

In the Left’s eyes, rhetoric from the Right is violence, and violence from the Left is speech.
