Analysis: Obama’s credibility on line in reversal

WASHINGTON (AP) — For more than a week, the White House had been barreling toward imminent military action against Syria. But President Barack Obama’s abrupt decision to instead ask Congress for permission left him with a high-risk gamble that could devastate his credibility if no action is ultimately taken in response to a deadly chemical […]

Ministers Need to take Lead on Religion and Politics

For decades pastors have been timid about preaching about religion and politics from the pulpit. The Old Testament prophets would have been stunned by such apprehension. Many modern-day churches believe that they have some very good biblical reasons for not addressing the subject from the pulpit. Their aversion is contrary to the Bible they claim […]

Shamed into war?

Having leaked to the world, and thus to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a detailed briefing of the coming U.S. air attack on Syria — (1) the source (offshore warships and perhaps a bomber or two), (2) the weapon (cruise missiles), (3) the duration (two or three days), (4) the purpose (punishment, not “regime change”) — perhaps we […]

The British Parliament got it right

One thing  has become painfully clear in Obama’s Syrian misadventure: he is a laughingstock. Barack Hussein Obama is not respected throughout the world. The Russians kicked his sorry ass to the curb. He can’t go to the UN because he won’t get the vote. Bush went to the UN. Bush got the vote. George W. Bush assembled 30 countries that backed him — the “Coaltion of the Willin g.” But Obama can’t get our closest ally to stand with him. The UK parliament rejected the US/UK alliance — more of Obama’s magic. And it is now being reported that […]

Obama crosses red line

By now it should be obvious that whenever the U.S. interferes in another nation’s politics in the name of “human rights,” that that is only a pretext. So it is in Syria, as Obama prepares to plunge America in a war with that nation, and, inevitably,  its allies . The United States’ stated reason for intervention, as articulated by John Kerry, is that Syrian President Assad used chemical weapons on the rebels, many of whom are jihadis — including  terrorists ,  rapists , and  cannibals  – and thus violated their human rights. Kerry is certainly consistent. Earlier he  worried […]

Obama Gives 2 New Executive Actions on Gun Control

While everyone is distracted with budget battles and the unrest in the Middle East, the White House announced two new gun control measures today. One new action attempts to close a loophole that exists related to background check and the other one prohibits the re-importation of U.S. military weapons. The Associated Press first announced these new executive actions this morning. One new policy will end a government practice that lets military weapons, sold or donated by the U.S. to allies, be reimported into the U.S. by private entities, where some may end up on the streets. The White House […]

Middle East Mess May Be Exactly What Obama Wants

Obama hates Israel, and he no longer has any need for the naïve liberal Jewish vote that helped put him in office Barack Hussein Obama is either the most inept president ever to sit in the White House or he is an enemy of the Republic. He could be both, but I defy anyone to suggest a logical third alternative. For the last ten years, I have watched this man’s uncanny rise to the pinnacle of power and vacillated between those two choices. His inexperience suggested the former, but his ideology made me wonder what he would do when […]

Obama: “Prez Can’t Deploy Military W/O Congress”. Obama: “I’m Deploying Military W/O Congress”

In a recent article by educator Thomas Sowell , he stated: “Like other truly talented phonies, Barack Obama concentrates his skills on the effect of his words on other people — most of whom do not have the time to become knowledgeable about the things he is talking about. Whether what he says bears any relationship to the facts is politically irrelevant.” Talented phony is a gross understatement when speaking about Barack Hussein Obama.  We still have no proof of his birth and citizenship, his Social Security Number is fraudulent along with his Selective Service registration form.  There is […]

Most Americans Want the Bible in Public Schools

“The State of the Bible 2013” survey conducted by Barna Group on behalf of the American Bible Society has found that two-thirds of Americans think it is important for public schools to include in their curriculum values based on the Bible. Not only do 66 percent of U.S. adults think teaching the Bible in schools is important, but a whopping 75 percent are of the opinion that teaching about the Bible in public schools could help reinforce moral principles — a viewpoint shared by the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools . In general, 77 percent of […]

The Nation’s Only Black Senator Was Not Invited to Speak at Event Commemorating MLK March on Washington

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), the only black person serving in the U.S. Senate, was not invited speak at Wednesday’s event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic march on Washington. There were, however, a number of Democratic lawmakers who were invited to appear. A spokesman for Scott confirmed to the Washington Examiner that the senator “was not invited to speak at the event.” “The senator believes today is a day to remember the extraordinary accomplishments and sacrifices of Dr. King, Congressman John Lewis, and an entire generation of black leaders. Today’s anniversary should simply serve as […]

In opening statements, he acknowledged to the jury that […]

Key lawmakers to get Syria chemical weapons briefing Thursday

Key lawmakers will get a classified briefing from the Obama administration on Thursday regarding Syria’s alleged slaughter of civilians using chemical weapons last week, two U.S. officials said. The briefing, to be held by conference call because Congress is still out on its August recess, is expected to include the chairmen and ranking members of […]

The National Security Agency Illegally Gathered Thousands of Emails from Americans

The National Security Agency (NSA) collected as many as 56,000 emails from Americans over three years. During this time the NSA collected Internet communications from fiber optic cables, and in the process, gathered thousands of emails and other Internet activities by Americans. NSA said that such collections were inadvertent. The violation was discovered in 2011. […]

Ayo Kimathi and his War on the Horizon

Ayo Kimathi, an African-American racist and supremacist, who has stated that in order for African-Americans to survive, they must kill large numbers of whites. This racist man, with a rhetoric that reminds us of the members of New Black Panther Party that also wanted “to kill white babies”, was an employee for the Department of […]

Guardian editor: UK authorities forced us to destroy computers holding Snowden files

WASHINGTON — The editor of the Guardian, a major outlet for revelations based on leaks from former U.S. intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, says the British government threatened legal action against the newspaper unless it either destroyed the classified documents or handed them back to British authorities. In an article posted on the British newspaper’s website on […]

Syria says ‘terrorists’ will strike Europe with chemical weapons

DAMASCUS (Reuters) – Syria’s deputy foreign minister said on Wednesday that the United States, Britain and France helped “terrorists” use chemical weapons in Syria, and that the same groups would soon use them against Europe. Speaking to reporters outside the Four Seasons hotel in Damascus, Faisal Maqdad said he had presented U.N. chemical weapons inspectors […]

Pentagon Labels Founding Fathers, Conservatives as Extremists

By Todd Starnes George Washington would not be welcome in the modern U.S. military. Neither would Thomas Jefferson or Benjamin Franklin, according to Department of Defense training documents that depict the Founding Fathers as extremists and conservative organizations as “hate groups.” FOLLOW TODD ON FACEBOOK FOR CONSERVATIVE NEWS. Ouch: Doctor Shortage Could Spell (More) Disaster for Obamacare

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has just hit another speed bump on its fast track to nowhere. From NewsMax : Healthcare professionals are warning that there could be a wide gap between the number of people seeking medical treatment under Obamacare and the number of doctors available to provide it. A triple threat — more people needing care, tens of thousands of doctors reaching retirement age and a growing number of physicians getting so frustrated with bureaucracy that they want out — could undermine any improvements the law envisages. The large number of retiring doctors emphasizes the […]

Justice Dept. blocks school choice in Louisiana

The proper response to any liberal who claims to be “pro-choice” is to laugh at them.  They’re not in favor of people “choosing” anything, especially when those choices threaten the Left’s power structure. We might be allowed some modest latitude within a narrow range of options the State has prepared for us… but true, unbounded choice and its consequences are not permitted.  Liberals don’t think the Little People can be trusted with that kind of power.  Who knows what they might do with it? The Wall Street Journal finds it bitterly ironic that Attorney General Eric Holder is nailing […]

Obama Ignores UN: Poised to Attack Syrian Regime

There is no good outcome that can be expected to emerge from the Syrian conflict The United Nations Chemical Weapons Team led by Swedish Professor Sellstrom has decided for security reasons to postpone until at least tomorrow any further visits to the locations of the most recent alleged chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburbs on August 21st. It came under sniper fire yesterday as it tried to enter the affected area, but team members were able to take some samples, visit two hospitals and interview survivors, eyewitnesses and doctors in the western district of Muadhamiya. In a statement, […]

Obama and his team contradict past statements on war powers, Syria

As President Barack Obama weighs military action in Syria, it remains unclear whether he will first seek congressional authorization. It is clear, however, that Obama once thought such authorization was necessary. “The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation,” candidate Obama told  The Boston Globe in late 2007. He added that the president can only act unilaterally in “instances of self-defense.” “It is always preferable to have the informed consent of Congress prior to any military […]

COMMON CORE STANDARDS POLICY ANALYSIS

WHAT IS COMMON CORE? The Common Core standards are national standards portrayed as state-led and voluntary that are being implemented by Washington DC trade groups funded by the federal government and unaccountable, private foundations.  These standards are accompanied by federally funded and supervised national tests and model curriculum that will drive curriculum choices because the […]

Obama Targets Colleges for More Federal Control

Despite overwhelming evidence that government meddling in higher education has led to soaring tuition costs and decreased quality at U.S. colleges and universities, Obama announced his latest scheme to use federal power in a supposed effort to make higher education more “affordable” while imposing new standards. Rather than following the advice of serious economists by letting the market reduce costs and improve quality, the president insisted this week that more government and more “reforms” were needed to achieve his goals. Opponents of the agenda have already started lashing out, saying that the federal government has no constitutional authority to […]

Data Mining: Florida students leaving their privacy at the schoolhouse door

School district defends teacher data mining Recently when Governor Rick Scott was asked if he supported the data mining aspect of Common Core, Scott answered ‘no’ to the question. It appears the Governor did not get the memo from the Florida Department of Education that public schools have been data mining for years using […]

ObamaCare: When Socialist Theory Meets Practice

America is lucky to have had two great social theorists: Yogi Berra and Richard Feynman. Had the Democrats heeded their words of wisdom when the issue of ObamaCare arose they’d not be sliding down the slippery slope they greased all by themselves. Yogi’s warning is nice and succinct: “In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.” Professor Feynman said much the same thing but in a few more words: “The real question of government versus private enterprise is argued on too philosophical and abstract a basis. Theoretically, planning may be good. But nobody […]
